I came across a neighborhood bar that offers a large selection of draft beers and has easy parking. It’s located in a non-descriptive strip cenre. I had just finished shopping for vinyl a couple of doors down and decided to stop in for a beer. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was prompt. I had my 40th birthday party here a few weeks ago and had a great time! 28 of us showed up and Zach the bartender took great care of us. He is really fast and personable, great guy.

I live in the area and come here frequently. It’s a cool bar with a great beer selection, nice and relaxing atmosphere. They have a nice variety of wines as well.

Would 10/10 recommend this place.

This place is incredible! We had our wedding at Station 3 and dashed over for the after-party; it was everything we dreamed of. i walked into this new bar location in sawyer houston heights. The atmosphere was very inviting, upscale yet casual. Andres, Santi, and Lauren were excellent bartenders. I would definitely recommend Brian and Tour De Brewery when you are in Houston. We were looking for something to do while on a business trip and this sounded interesting. The bike was comfortable and the ride wasn’t difficult so don’t think you have to be a bike enthusiast to do this tour. On the Historic Heights tour we rode along the bayous, saw some city history and rode through some gorgeous neighborhoods stopping along the way to drink some delicious Houston beers. It was a great way to experience the city in a unique way!

Spent a great afternoon with Jason exploring East Downtown Houston on bicycles with a stop at a few of the local craft breweries. It's a great way to get a more intimate look at the EaDo neighborhood, fueled by great beer along the way. The riding was easy, and Jason was a terrific guide. This brewery is such a hidden gem—I can’t believe it’s only a mile from my house! Tucked behind some businesses, it’s easy to miss, but once you find it, you’ll wonder how you didn’t know about it sooner. The vibe here is fantastic—open, vibrant, and super chill—perfect for grabbing a beer and unwinding.

It’s also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus! On our visit, we were spoiled with food options, including a variety of food trucks and a hot dog stand. We tried the oven-baked sausage pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. To top it off, we stumbled upon their "Octobearfest" celebration (yes, bear-themed!), which had fun activities and competitions throughout the day.

Of course, the beer is the real star here. Every brew we tried was top-notch—definitely my go-to now over Saint Arnold’s Brewery.

*Update:* We were thrilled to find them open on Christmas Day! The space was cozy and warm, and their cider was exactly what we needed to toast the holiday spirit. This spot has quickly become a favorite for its great atmosphere, delicious food, and, most importantly, incredible beer. Highly recommend checking it out!

Stopped in for a few beers with my wife on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.  They had all the doors open, and it's a great place to enjoy some cold beverages.  I had the Northwest corridor IPA, which was excellent.  I also tried the Hipster sauce IPA, which was good as well. My wife had the fruit tart and taco Tuesday, both of which she very much enjoyed.  Asking the bar tender, this place has combined with Fortress brewing and B52 brewing and is now 11 Below brewing.  Definitely worth checking out for some good beers and a great atmosphere.  I would have given five stars, but the two bar tenders were more concerned with chatting with their friends off in the corner than getting me another beer. Sat at the bar with an empty for at least 10 min. Had to wave my hand to finally get their attention. Not ideal.

Big Owl Craft Brewery is hands down one of my favorite spots just outside the Heights. I've been coming here for a couple years now, and it never gets old. They’ve got an awesome selection of beers, always something new to try, but I still have my go-to favorites.

What really makes Big Owl stand out, though, is the vibe. Whether it's Lotería nights, Free Taco Fridays (yes, really), or hanging with the run club crew, there’s always something fun going on. It feels like a true community spot, laid back, welcoming, and full of good energy.

Love that they're locally and Hispanic owned too. You can really tell how much heart they put into everything. If you're into good beer and good people, you’ve gotta check this place out.

It is a quaint old fashioned place studded with Elvis memorabilia from a different time and there is also a pool table, but it feels more like entering into somebody's living room possibly because the owner is so nice and welcoming.
Outside,  there is a raised and covered area surrounded by actual rose bushes and they are blooming at this time so we were litterally sitting in a rose garden.
The Rose Garden is the place to go if you are tired of trendy noisy bars and you want to try something different.

Axelrad Beer Garden is one of those rare Houston gems that hits the mark for everyone. It's geared towards a young crowd, sure, but don’t let that fool you. I took my 76-year-old father and a close family friend in their 60s, and they had just as much fun as I (30s) did. We went on a jazz night paired with steak, and between the live band and the sizzling grill, the atmosphere was absolutely electric.

The space itself is massive and welcoming, with tons of picnic tables, cozy chairs, and colorful hammocks scattered across a huge neon-lit courtyard. The vibe is casual, creative, and inclusive, with the kind of energy that feels like a backyard party thrown by artists, musicians, and beer lovers all at once.

There’s an easy pass-through into Luigi’s next door (some of the best pizza in the city), and the drink menu at Axelrad is top notch, with tons of craft beers on tap, creative cocktails, and solid happy hour deals that make it easy to settle in and stay awhile.

It’s also super pet friendly, which I loved. Beautiful, well-behaved dogs lounging near their owners gave the whole place a calm, social rhythm, even when the crowd was buzzing.

What surprised me most was how well it all came together for multiple generations. While it's clearly designed with a younger demographic in mind with the artsy decor, funky lighting, Instagram-worthy everything, there’s live music, good food, great service, and a safe, relaxed energy that made my dad and his friend feel totally comfortable.

Bottom line is whether you’re here for date night, a group hang, live music, a pizza run, or just a cold drink with your dog under the stars, Axelrad delivers. It’s become a personal favorite, and it’s now one of the first spots I recommend to anyone looking for the real heart of Houston culture, which is usually chill, vibrant, with just the right amount of weird. Inside feels like a beer-lover’s cathedral, with high dome ceilings, communal tables, cozy corners for families or groups of friends, and a long central bar where strangers can turn into drinking buddies in no time. The whole vibe is welcoming, relaxed, and somehow both epic and casual at the same time.

Even though I came for the all-you-can-eat BBQ and beer festival (which was amazing, by the way—hello endless brisket and ribs), I couldn’t help but fall in love with the brewery itself.
They offer a huge variety of beers, including light, fruity, and creative options for folks like me who don’t normally drink beer, but found plenty to love. The beer flights were flying out to tables left and right, and everything looked delicious—especially the pizza I saw coming out of the kitchen. Definitely planning to come back just to try that.

Outside, there’s a large, shaded patio with seating, live music, and even a play area for kids, so parents can relax while their little ones stay entertained. During the festival, there was also a market area with local vendors and fun finds—think t-shirts, small gifts, and boutique-style items you’d usually only see at a cool outdoor market.

Bottom line: Saint Arnold Brewing Co. isn’t just a brewery—it’s a full-on experience. Whether you’re coming with a big group, on a casual date, or just swinging by with a friend, this place delivers. I can’t wait to come back and explore more outside of the festival.

We had an awesome time visiting Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston, Texas. From the moment we arrived, the place had a cool vibe—those classic cars on display were a fun and unexpected touch!

Amazing place to visit. An event with a band was held outside and we all had a blast. I have been here twice! If I lived closer, I would come by every week! The beers are delicious, even if you aren’t a big beer person, I recommend this place! Social Beer Garden HTX was a wonderful space to host a happy hour for our healthcare non-profit organization, where we gathered 15-20 individuals. The managers Rob & Myles were extremely accommodating, communicative and helpful! Each time I had a question, they were a quick phone call or email away, plus their attentiveness was unmatched. The space and venue itself is large, clean and organized. Upstairs on the second floor there is a pool table along with other entertainment, including an outdoor rooftop. We had our happy hour on a Thursday, which was their steak night and trivia night. There were a few food options, I went with tamales and they were very delicious!! We had such a good time!

Overall, this is a great place to host a gathering, whether it’s a corporate or smaller gathering. It’s also a great place for individuals to play trivia and find entertainment. Lastly having food options was a plus and their lengthy drink menu was impressive.

I recently hosted a big event here (Beyond the Covers Book Fair) and I cant say enough good things about the entire experience. I wish there were more stars. Absolutely loved our visit to City Acre Brewery! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home--warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. The new menu is full of exciting and creative options, and we had a hard time choosing what to try first (a good problem to have!).

A friend suggested this place for dinner and I honestly had my reservations.  Dinner at a brewery sounded like chicken wings and fries but Senate Avenue Brewery blew my mind with a restaurant worthy menu. I had the braised short rib with mashed potatoes (go ahead a take a sec to wrap your mind around that. I'll wait) followed by a refreshing and generous helping of raspberry sorbet that was the perfect palette cleanser for the end of a flavorful meal. The short rib was insanely tender, cutting easily with my knife, with just enough sauce to coat each piece of meat as I cut into it and a few mushroom caps sprinkled in there. I could've used more mash for sure but that's a personal preference as I'm a potato girlie. The cheese curds were crunchy and the pretzel bites were pillowy soft. I have no complaints about my meal nor the atmosphere of the brewery. It's a large, open space with high ceilings to carry the sound throughout. It was bright and loud which I fully expected but it wasn't off-putting. Everyone we encountered was kind and helpful and at the end of the night as they were gearing to close, the runner came and asked if we wanted any dessert before the kitchen closed. Before I came here, I found some menus online and knew what I was going to order before I came in - only to find that the menu had apparently changed, and my pick was no longer on the list. Sad.

Turns out, though, that a lot of the food here is excellent, and I enjoyed my meal thoroughly. Would I have still liked ordering the steak? Sure, but the brat that I ordered was on point, the pork rinds were good, and the burgers were also delicious.

Of course, as it's a brewery, we wanted to try some of the drink variety - and were also very happy with our options. A lot of breweries have plenty of heavy IPA options, but we were very happy with the lager and porter options.

Parking: They have a huge gravel lot and I see people parking on the street when it gets filled up.

A huge taproom with pinball machines inside, split into pet- friendly and pet- restricted areas! They have a small patio as well. I went for an open house where they catered some barbecue and got to try the Final Boss (Tropical) edition, which was a great fruity and not too hoppy IPA.

Super friendly people and they are open to having outside catering for events which is very cool. There is usually a food truck outside.

Eureka Heights Brew Co. has a relaxed, laid-back vibe with plenty of space to hang out. We went on bingo night hosted by Nerdtropolis and had a blast! There are tons of pinball machines, and everything—from drinks to games—is very reasonably priced. Great spot for a fun night out!

I had a great time at Eureka Heights Brew Co! I tried the 713 Pilsner, a refreshing German-style Pilsner that was perfect for the hot Houston weather. I also enjoyed the Buckle Bunny, a cream ale that was super smooth and easy to drink, with a slightly sweet finish. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Awesome layout, good beer and great service at the bar.

Edit: Eureka Heights has become one of my favorite newer breweries, all of the beers they produce are tasty and the events they host are great. The staff is rad and the place just seems to be getting better by the week. Moo moo is so good.

This was the best brewery I went to on my trip to Houston. The beer quality was very high. Some good styles though they definitely cater to the craft nerds. Service was fast and friendly. Plenty of parking outside. The inside area isn’t huge so that’s the only real drawback.
