Oh my gosh!  We love this place so much.  It’s so unexpected to have fantastic sushi in a small craft beer place.  We love the sushi, and air fried gyoza, crab Rangoon and shrimp.  The special presentations are so fun!  It’s always something different and feels special.  We love sitting at the bar and ordering food.  The bartenders don’t mind and they are all very friendly.

What a great find! Stumbled in on vacation and so glad we did!! Good beers, friendly staff and Sushi! The way the beer is poured is fascinating, from the bottom of the glass!

My new favorite spot!! Love the 18 Tap variety of craft beers and seltzers!!! They also have Froze, wine and Non-alcoholic options. Plus the Bottoms Up system is so unique. Did I mention they have Max Sushi in house?!? It's incredibly fresh and delicious.  There are plenty of TVs and outside seating as well. They do Music Bingo on Wednesdays and have Trivia coming soon.

What an fantastic find! This bar and bartender Patrick were amazing. Excellent selection of craft beer and wine along with a handful of sakes, meads, ciders, kombuchas, and NA options. Such an attention to detail I've rarely seen elsewhere, really nice atmosphere, lovely decor, such a cozy intimate space.

They also have great deals on to go bottles, but I recommend you stop and hang out for a minute, quite a delight.

Unique spot in a neighborhood of Charleston.  The bar can only hold 15 or so people.  It is full of eclectic decor.  The wine and beer menu is one a kind.  No two selections are the same.  Highly recommended.

Had a fantastic time at Low Tide brewing  in Johns Island, South Carolina. They had a very cool and large indoor and outdoor space. Tons of seating. They had a lot of amazing beers. Many different styles. I had the sour and it was incredible and my friends had the seltzer and the IPA and everyone loved their beer. Service was very swift and friendly! Would definitely go back next time I visit.

I loved this place and the vibe. Great spot to stop off for a pint. Reasonable prices on beer and merch. Very female & family friendly ( bathroom stocked with female products & changing table in the bathroom) They also know what food trucks they are getting each day. Picnic tables offer large space to bring your own snacks or play cards. We had a great experience. I will say my favorite thing is the postcards they have to buy and will mail out for you. What a cool idea!

Fantastic place to grab a drink

The servers were all super nice and friendly and conversative. The slushy of the week was a margarita and was strong but tasty

The beer selection was excellent and the merch was well stocked and I love the $10 mystery t shirt option!

The bathrooms were also very clean and well stocked

Such a cute brewery and they have homemade soda as a nonalcoholic option! I was told that they switch out the food truck, but when we went it was Italian food, which tasted great. We came here to celebrate my brother and sister in law right before getting married and they were very accommodating with all of the people that came.

Had a great time here! Staff and space were great. Plenty of brews to suit just about anyone’s needs and a few seasonal options such as the Santa Brunch that was impeccable. The inside had live music and plenty of bar seating or tables. The large outside patio and fire pit were perfect for friends and family. Great pizza food truck on the night of my visit that really hit the spot but some snacks are available inside as well. If you’re staying in Charleston it’s a bit of a hike but good things usually are.

While visiting the area I stopped in to have a flight (or two). All of the beers were delightful and tasty. The have artwork of the labels of past beers on the walls and it was enjoyable to look at. It is dog-friendly, so was able to get some dog loving in as well. My travel partner is not a big beer drinker, so he was able to get a glass of wine. The bartender was pleasant, efficient and helpful when it came to knowledge and service. I would highly recommend stopping here.

My wife and I drove from Fort Mill, SC for a get away to Charleston. We work in a brewery and wanted to check out the brewery scene close to our condo and the first one we tried was Two Blokes. Immediately upon entry we are greeted by the bartender, Christina. I ordered the Striped Sweater and my wife ordered the Kiwi-8. Both were delicious! We both bought some neat merch. The artwork is really cool and the atmosphere was beyond our expectations. Superb service from Christina. She was very welcoming and attentive from beginning to end. A very sweet and laid back personality. Being new to the area, she recommended some of her favorite places and things to do. We checked those out as well. We had to come back to try the First Blood and Second Breakfast, also very delicious! Overall a great experience and a wonderful time. Thank you Christina! We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I have RVed to breweries in 47 states and this one is our favorite. We visited on a slow day and sampled over 10 beers.  They were all delicious.  One of the founders came out to say hello and told us the history of the brewery. We felt like VIPs. We highly recommend this brewery and can't wait to go back. Over the Horizon Brewery is hands down one of the best event spots around. We hosted our Juiced Fuel 2 year event here and the setup couldn’t have been more perfect. The outdoor space was awesome—plenty of room for kids to run around while the adults got to hang out and actually enjoy themselves (a win-win). The pizza was bomb and the beer was cold and crisp. Perfect for a hot day. What really stood out though was how easy they made everything. Their team was super helpful from the very beginning all the way through to the end. It felt like they truly cared about making our event a success. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, laid-back spot that still has all the thoughtful touches to make it special.

They may not have ciders, but they have something way better! Their customizable sour is the absolute best. You can pick syrup flavors to make your own creations. We did blackberry and grenadine and Amazing!!!!!. We will be going back again before our vacation ends. The staff was EXCELLENT! Great to talk to and funny and very helpful. This is really cool place to hang out with friends! They have such interesting brews and the concept that is comfortable. The staff is very nice and will help you select the right drinks for your taste pallet. I tried as many as I could handle and had an amazing cheesesteak that I was not expecting from a brewery.

I’ve been waiting to finally have the chance to get to this brewery thanks to their Instagram for giving be daily fomo. Well…I finally made it! I believe I had 8 different sours… which is absolutely unheard of at any other brewery, most were great, others were just good, but overall what a fantastic little brewery. The brews are on the sweet side, so prepare for a bit of a sugar rush. At the end I left with a great experience and a 4pack of my favorite. While I was there on a Sunday afternoon, there was also a trivia game going on. Worth the trip, and if I’m ever back in the area, it’s a must stop to try any and everything that’s new.

Solid smaller brewery. If you like sours at all this is a great place to try several variations from sour to sweet. Their cinnamon stout and golden ale were also very good. This isn't a place to go and have dinner but a place to grab a beer, sit back and relax or play one of the many game options they have available from board games to ping pong and several different video gaming consoles set up free to use. When I went there wasn't any kids but it was kinda late on a school night so there's that. They also have a weekly schedule of happenings at the brewery. Beertender was helpful and friendly. They have crowlers and beers to go which is always nice. If you're already up in North Charleston or especially like sour beers then this is a solid go to!

Have lived in Charleston for 5 years now and have tried every brewery in the area. This is by far the best beer in Charleston. They produce creative but still traditional beer that always brings me back for more. The only downside is that they do not allow dogs. This is quite literally the only reason i visit other breweries. If you look across the street at Edmunds, there are dogs galore and I am sure that more folks would come to Munkle if they were to allow pups.  But other than that, this place rocks and I 100% recommend it.

It seems to be hard lately to find a new-ish brewery that produces creative, but traditional craft beers at such a high level. This isn’t hyperbole. This brewery is producing three impressive styles of beer with incredible craft and precision. The Belgian style beers are true to the process and yet adapted to the unique climate of Charleston, SC. The Belgian Brown is drinkable on a hot summer day, but also so wonderfully complex to be paired with a nice filet or some local shrimp and grits. The Pils is German perfection. The two American style ales I tried were also perfect. No pallet wreckers! Craft is alive and well at this brewery and it’s a lovely place to drop in for an afternoon. Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other special offerings at Munkle. Thank you!

We hosted a pre-wedding party at Freehouse for about 90 guests. From our early communication to figure out menu, the owner and staff could not have been more accommodating & pleasant. The space (indoor and outdoor) is ample, the organic beer / beverages and the food are all fantastic. The lone man in the kitchen cranked out 30 pizzas and many apps (those garlic knots!!) in perfect cadence. This place is a credit to Charleston’s craft brewery scene.

A great brewery in the Charleston area. They are just north of downtown and the views are incredible. They have a large covered area as well as plenty of outdoor space to hang out! Awesome beers. Friendly bartender/service and cool vibes. My wife and I got some lunch and her Pork Belly BLT was a hit. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the "Philly Cheesesteak" and it was a miss. If you're going to list "Philly Cheesesteak" on your menu, it better deliver. It wasn't bad, per se, but a Philly it was not. What a find! We found the tap room with Harvest Host. Nice quiet area under the flight path to the airport, so if you enjoy planes, heavenly dreams. Came in for dinner and a beer. Phenomenal service!! We were in town for a dance competition and came as a very large group ( roughly 25 counting the kids). The staff handled it like rockstars! I fully anticipated us overwhelming the kitchen and having a little bit of a wait. Boy was I wrong. Some of our families were getting their food by the time our last group was placing their order. Was expecting better beer based on the Untappd reviews. It’s well crafted and the sours were their best beers but the IPAs lack the hop-bomb profile I’ve come to expect being from the Midwest. Cool spot, great service, and love the tasty partnership with Bok Choy Boy (though your clothes will smell like a kitchen when you leave as a result).

While visiting Charleston for a guy's trip, we stopped by Charles Towne Fermetory for a little day drinking.  The bartenders are very friendly and gave good suggestions on what beers to try. West Ashley has amazing beer and some of the best beer in Charleston is something, I regrettably did not know before today. Charles Towne has some awesome selection of brews. All of them seem to be excelling at the specific style the brew master was going for. Oh, you want a Czech Dark Lager? Well, enjoy one of the best. This place is fantastic and so well hidden on Savannah Hwy that I can't believe I have overlooked it. I will be spending more time here in the future from now on.

Hands down best beer in the Charleston area. Check out the ratings on untapped app.  Great IPA, great Gose , low ABV makes a super beach beer.  2022 El Rayo is off the charts.  They also offer a El Rayo slushy which went down way to easy. Two locations Nothing wrong with the Original Savannah Highway venue but the new venue, called “the garden “ is a wonderful place to spend the day or evening.  Still developing the facility but a real nice, family friendly, indoor / outdoor venue.  Do not serve food yet but a taco place and BBQ place 100 yards down the street. Both pair well with beer.

Tuesday night is trivia night. Go check them out.  They have a great outdoor space for kids and dogs.  Every night is a different food truck out front in their parking lot. My niece arranged for us to hold a baby shower for my daughter at Indigo Reef.  She said she dealt with the owner and he was fantastic. My wife and I have been to most of the Charleston area breweries over the past two years having relocated from NY. Each one is unique regarding the location , the venue and of course the beer.  Today we decided to try Indigo Reef. Very much a winner. They featured 20 beers on tap with an option for 12 and 16 oz pours or flights.  We opted for two flights. Cool spot with great beer selections and tasty bites. They also sell bags of chips and beef jerky if you just want a little snack to go with your drink. They have a large fridge full of various hard ciders, seltzers, wine and they even offer nonalcoholic options for those looking to be social but not drink. First time at this little brewery and was pleasantly surprised. They pack a lot into such a small place and make use of every inch of space to create several unique niches. The initial taproom is bright clean refreshing clear and precise. Bright coastal vibes. Tried almost all the beers the Under The Oak bourbon barrel aged barleywine was a definite winner followed up by Ubergang and this is coming from someone who normally enjoys lighter beers. These 2 options were still very light and easy drinking but packed with tons of great flavor. Outside there was a great food truck Wedge, tons of seating and an area for the kids to play. Inside through the taproom there's a cozy seating area with all the great smells of a brewery followed by a huge open wharehouse area with a few games and very large TVs to watch the game. My wife and I are making the rounds of the many breweries located in the Charleston area. Today we spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Hobcaw in Mt Pleasant to see what they had to offer.! What we found was a great place to hang out and enjoy some really good beer. We ended up doing three flights that enabled us to sample all 12 beers on tap. A wide variety from sours to IPA to stouts with other options mixed in. Our bar tender Steve was knowledgeable and friendly in what turned out to be a relaxing afternoon. Really enjoyed The Paloma and beer. The Burrata Salad with Pesto Vinagrette was delicious. The chicken sliders were good too! I really like the vibe and the decor was very aesthetically pleasing. Great service! Ordered Brussels sprouts, crawfish Cajun poppers, and truffle fries from their tapas menu. Fries were amazing and could have eaten the ranch dipping sauce with a spoon. The Whale is essentially a beer tasting collective. It offers a large number of locally brewed beer on tap as well as an extensive collection of canned and bottled local brews. It’s inside The Refinery and has a nice minimalist vibe bar area and out side tables on a large elevated patio. We were there for a late afternoon beer tasting before dinner and were well served by the variety of offerings and a competent bartender. I've been to the whale a number of times, even saw Yung Gravy at the Refinery once and came back for a drink. I'm a big fan of this spot for a few reasons:

Service: the bartenders are always friendly, funny, professional and knowledgeable of what they serve.

Beer list: there's no shortage of exotic or niche picks. They have a rotating tap and a plethora of cans and bottles from countries all over the world. In one of my pictures I'm drinking a beer from Tasmania.

The vibe: great music, dimly lit with a purple neon light, and every time I have gone it's very quiet.

11/10 would recommend. I'm almost scared too many people will find this place.

Absolutely love the 80s vibe. They even had a little pop up with vendors and we ended up getting two 80s vintage jackets. It was a windy day though so we stayed inside the bar area.

Finally got the chance to try this place, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to our expectations. While we really enjoy Edmund’s Oast beer, the restaurant side didn’t make the same impression. The food was good, and the portions were generous, but something felt missing. Easily the best food in Charleston especially for it's price point. Anything with this level of quality and service would easily be $100-200/person in New Jersey or New York. Service was amazing, hell, beyond expectation. I'm also quite frankly a bit shocked how small the bill was for two entrees, a side (which was LARGE), and a drink was. Shawn, our waiter, should be example as to how service should be for other restaurants in the area. Beyond just recommending items, he gave a few recommendations and helped narrow down the options through taste or dietary restrictions. He also recommended several desserts, but due to how delicious and filling the meal became, we sadly weren't hungry enough to fit one in. Sure, Charleston has plenty of amazing options, otherwise I wouldn't want to be a student here, but I think this is a must-have for all tourists and incoming freshman like myself. The atmosphere of the restaurant is just superb. I'd compare the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and most importantly the service to that of an episode of The Bear. It carries perfectly that southern charm mixed with fine dining and a pub. I'm just still baffled how amazing that prime rib was. Hope to be back in August!

Lunch outside is SO GREAT!!  Cool breezes blow. Lots of shady areas and they have fans on.   They have both large picnic tables & large tables with chairs. We stopped at Edmund’s Oast for lunch right after landing in Charleston on July 4th, on our way to our VRBO on Folly Beach -  and it couldn’t have been a better kickoff to our holiday week.

The food was fantastic. We went with the family-style fried chicken, which came with collard greens, rice & beans and mac & cheese. Everything was delicious, it hit the spot for the whole family.

We sat outside, the setup was spacious, relaxed, and welcoming - perfect for easing into vacation mode. The indoor space looked very cool as well, ideal if you’re looking to escape the summer heat.

Dropped in for dinner at the taphouse of a brewery we already love, and ended up getting more than we expected.  The menu leaned into Thai fusion, which was a surprise, but a really welcome one.

We tried the salt chicken, mushrooms and rice noodles, and a papaya salad. Everything came out with bold flavors and bright, fresh ingredients. The salt chicken had a crisp, savory crust and juicy interior, while the mushrooms and noodles packed real heat. I can usually handle spice, but these had me sweating in the best way. The papaya salad added a refreshing crunch and a tangy contrast that helped cool things down.

The beer, of course, was top-tier. Huge variety on tap, and even better when enjoyed right at the source.
