This is an amazing tour! An absolute must if you are visiting Boston or even if you live there already! Jimbo is fun, friendly and very knowledgeable of both the history of Boston and of Americas history. It felt more like hanging out with an old friend showing you where they live instead of being “on a tour”. If you want some great pizza, to hang out with some cool people and learn a lot of great history- this is the tour for you! He also has other cool tours on his website!

Book the tour!! This was the highlight of our ladies 40th birthday trip!  We had a blast.  We learned a lot in a fun way, had a beer and ate amazing pizza.  It was so fun seeing the hidden gems of Boston and not just the tourist traps!  Worth every penny! Jimbo also shared a ton of recommendations on places to eat/drink after the tour.

Did this tour last summer, and forgot this review.  Came across this tour by accident and thought it looked interesting. Ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The host, Anthony is a gem! Knows the area (he was raised there) and is a great story teller and funny! Make sure you read what the tour is and is about, as I don't think this is for everyone. It is politically incorrect and some of the content my rub some the wrong way. And DO NOT eat before you go. The food stops are fantastic and the portions are nice sized considering the number of stops. If you enjoy, good food, good stories, and politically incorrect humor, this is for you. Had a wonderful time with Anthony/Flash as our tour guide, a true local to North End Boston. Hearing stories from someone who lived through the growth and transformation of North End was unique and interesting, to say the least.

Like others have mentioned, go into this with an empty stomach as you will be filled with great food from local spots with storied histories. The arancini and affogato were my personal favorites from the tour.

Highly recommended food tour for Bostonians and tourists alike.

This was a fantastic tour given by Anthony. I loved the fact that Anthony was born here and grew up here. He shared some great personal stories of growing up, as well as some of the history of the area and the changes that took place over time.

I can't stress this enough...please don't eat much before this tour! I consider myself a good eater and by the time we finished, I was stuffed like a Manicotti!

Just relax, have fun and enjoy this unique opportunity to take in the North End and all the flavors: the interesting styles of the older buildings, the heavenly smells of Parmesan and Romano cheese from Umberto's, the silkiness of gelato mixed with espresso, and the warm personalities of the residents. My husband and I did the tour a few days ago and we are still talking about the lemon ice, Italian sub, and pizza. Anthony was a fantastic tour guide with so many great stories about growing up in the North End and the people there. He's quite a character, a little crude, but also hilarious, and you can tell he loves the neighborhood and the food. There were 25 people on our tour, which we feared would be too big, but Anthony managed it well, calling ahead to our next stop to inform them of the size of the group and what he wanted. Some of the stops were short and we ate outside on the sidewalk or in a park, while others were longer and allowed some time to sit, enjoy a glass of wine, and get to know our fellow tour-goers. Overall, we thought it was very well paced and planned, and made for a very entertaining and enjoyable afternoon. Thanks for showing us around, Anthony!

My friend and I were visiting from Minnesota and took Anthony's Politically Incorrect tour. We had such a blast! Anthony is very charismatic (he may not like that word) and knowledgeable. We loved all of his stories. He really is a local and well connected with the community. That is easy to see. The food was all delicious and perfectly portioned. You must do the 1-hour cruise around Boston harbor - amazing views of the ships, airport, ferries, USS Constitution / Bunker Hill and sites of the freedom trail. The guide gave a good and interesting history lesson about the harbor. Sitting on the top deck was a truly amazing time. If you're visiting other sites, bundle it with the Go City pass for an awesome deal.

I chose to take a sunset Cruise with the Boston harbor City cruises while I was visiting Boston.  It was definitely a highlight of my trip.

For starters, being able to sit down at the end of the day and enjoy watching the sunset while cruising was nice as I definitely walked quite a bit more sightseeing than I do on an average day in my life.

The boat was nice. It was large but not too big. There is an indoor area with tables and chairs and a bar where you can get drinks and food.

You could also go out onto the decks outside and enjoy the outside air. We did not spend much time on the outside decks as it was a bit chilly on the day that we were visiting.

The boat sales smoothly through the Boston Bay harbor and shows you all around. There were a couple times that they made announcements on the loudspeakers to let you know about a different site of interest that we were passing. They even make sure they're near a ship that fires a Canon every night at 7:00 p.m.

The overall experience was very nice and relaxing and a great way to end a day of sightseeing. 10/10 I would do it again.

Went on a whale watching tour with Boston Harbor City Cruises out to Stellwagen Bank. We saw a few humpback whales which was quite impressive. The marine biologists on board are very knowledgeable and provide a wealth of information. Special attention is paid not to interfere with the whales' activities! It was a great day out on the ocean!

Hi!

I had a fabulous time on the whale watching tour.  So much whale action!  It was really fun and educational.   This type of trip is a great way to motivate people to make environmentally sound choices with their lives, like recycling and composting.   The staff did a perfect job.

I would give this tour 5 stars if they offered food scrap composting on the boat, which Boston has city wide service for food scrap composting.    The signage in the recycling could also be better.   I'd be happy to change my rating if they brought their practices into better alignment with their values.

Very enjoyable way to see many Boston landmarks from a water view all in one harbor tour. We had great weather, but even with less than great weather, there's indoor seating. Our guide, Kevin, was very informative and entertaining. You'll enjoy the history, the views, or just the cruise.

I’ve done the Summer Nights tour and river cruise twice now. I had so much fun both times. Boston is a fun city full of tons of history. Crafty was my guide both times. He’s funny and very knowledgeable! He loves his city! Maine highly recommends!

This was a fun and easy way to see a lot of Boston. We were easily able to get on and off at all the different stops of the Trolley. The stadium seat and big open windows was very nice to be able to see everything. Booking this would be a great way to spend the whole day. Plus it helps you get a good idea of what you might want to see up close or just pass by in the trolley. If you get on in the morning and get off at many stops you could spend the whole day doing it. Most of the tour guides were good. The one thing we wish we were told and will help you (because no tour guides told us) is the Seaport or Blue line is very short, it's not narrated, and nothing really to see. You could just skip this line all together, unless you are staying at one of the hotels down there or there was a specific restaurant you want down there. You can buy the combo ticket for the Boston Tea Party Museum and Old Town Trolley Tour and you will save money.

If you want a great way to see Boston and not have to walk till your feet fall off then this is for you.
There are a couple of different trolleys that take you to different areas of Boston. The bus driver will give you information about each area as you pass it.

Taking this trolley made me really glad that I opted to not drive around Boston because traffic is crazy busy. This means that the trolley doesn't go too fast. The advantage of that is it's really easy to take pictures of what's out the window.

A lot of people seem to buy tickets for this trolley and you have to wait in line to get on one. You may have to wait for a second bus to come around because they are so full.

The day that we took the trolley was a nice day so the windows were down. When I say the windows were down I mean that they're plastic flaps that were taken off so you could just easily stick your arms out and there wasn't actually any window there. This provided a nice little breeze and easy visibility.

The tour was nice and informative and we learned a lot. I mostly learned that I would rather visit Boston and not live in Boston.

I was surprised by how little of the colonial times were preserved and a lot of the older structures were late 1800s to early 1900s.

Riding the trolley feels nice and relaxing and was wonderful to see all sorts of different sites. I would definitely recommend doing this trolley tour, especially if you're on a second or third day of sightseeing in Boston and you want to give your legs a break.

I really enjoyed the Old Town Trolley Tour of Boston.  I took the tour to Stop #7 (Cheers).  I got off there and went on a tour of the nearby MA St. House.  Afterwards, I visited Cheers, which was a lot of fun, as well.  I hopped back on the Tour bus after that.  It returned to Stop #1 about an hour later.  Both of the drivers that I had (Hummer & Lurch) were entertaining, fun and informative.  I also liked the pre-recorded safety messages.  The Humphrey Bogart and Richard Nixon versions were really funny.
